4.5K Syrian to Refuge in Michigan
On 21st September 2015, a website ‘National Report’ published news in an article with a title ‘The Small Michigan Town would Accept 4,000 Syrian Refugees’. A number of other websites such as USATODAY and Conservative Frontline also updated posts related to this news. The news also indicated that U.S president Obama said that United States also receiving 70,000 refugees every year that is selected by the United Nations and these refugees are being screened by the FBI and other U.S agencies. These refugees are being settled in more than 185 cities and towns in the United States. The U.S President has planned to accommodate 80,000 more refugees in the next year, including more than 10,000 people from ISIS occupied Syrian territory.
The Menominee city has the smallest population of 8,500 people and now more than 4,500 Syrian refugees will be accommodated in this city. It would reflect a great impact on its demographic overnight change. The Menominee city leaders have been agreed in funding School and Mosque for Muslim refugees of Syria. Some of the empty and unused buildings would also be utilized in downtown area. Some organizations and volunteers would also provide care packages in helping the refugees to adjust them in this small town. A number of rumors debated about Syrian refugees in the Muslim population area at Michigan. Local media noticed and denied the rumors.
