There are a number of iconic masks linked to the movie history and one of them worn by Michael Myers, the crazy killer character in Halloween films and its first episode was released in the year 1978. Point to be noted that this horrible face mask in this episode originally included from a different film series, a television series Star Trek and Captain Kirk. This frightful film Halloween was made in 1978 with a short amount of budget because the director Carpenter of this film didn’t have extra amount to pay for a custom mask making. The director also said in an interview in 2015 that the mask of Captain Kirk was picked up by movie’s art director from a magic shop and made some changing to introduce an iconic shape for Michael Myers.

He added that we had a choice because we didn’t have extra amount of money in making a new mask. So, the art director of the movie visited to Hollywood Boulevard’s Bert Wheeler’s magic shop and picked up two masks. One was Captain Kirk mask and the other was clown mask. The mask of Captain Kirk was not looking like William Shatner or like anybody. It looks like a very scary mask and supposedly a much better choice for us. So, we painted it and changed its eye holes and altered a couple of things. Strenbach also introduced a similar version as he worked as designer for Halloween 2. The Carpenter said that we didn’t spare any mask from our first movie Halloween.
