Warnings Issued by U.S. State Department for 23 States in the Country

The U.S State Department issued a travel advisory statement for Mexico. The Department has released warnings specific to the regions that are considered home to some most famous tourist destinations in the country. The U.S State Department warned U.S citizens that crime rates are on the rise in some specific states including Quintana Roo. This state includes Baja California and Cancun as it is home to Los Cabos. The Mexican government also indicated that the U.S State Department released a statement, and it is showing that there was a much higher rate of crimes and violence in mentioned regions in 2017 compared to last year. The statement has indicated that most crimes appeared targeted by criminal organizations and ground battles between criminal groups.

The statement further indicated that a number of shooting incidents happened in the above mentioned states and a large number of innocent people were killed and injured. The advisory of the U.S government issued warnings for 23 states such as Veracruz and Chiapas states, including a number of Mexican states. The statement also mentioned that tourist destinations such as Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo beach resorts have been considered potential places for such incidents. Bloomberg has indicated that Quintana Roo isn’t just home to Cancun, but also to Cozumel, Tulum and Playa del Carmen, and it attracts at least 10 million tourists per year. The Los Angeles Times also mentioned that crimes in these regions have increased as compared to the last year’s statistics.
