Gary Cohn announced his resignation as Trump’s Top Economic Adviser
On Tuesday, the White House has announced that top economic adviser to the U.S President Donald Trump, Gary Cohn has announced his resignation. Point to be noted that Cohn had been rumored just a couple a weeks ago. Rumors indicated that Cohn was a strong candidate for next White House chief of staff. Now, he will leave the White House following his aggressive arguments against the decision of President Trump in imposing tariffs on aluminum and steel imports. The White House has confirmed that Cohn might leave during coming weeks. Trump earlier said that Gary has been his chief economic adviser and he has done a remarkable job in moving agenda. He provided a significant amount of help in delivering historical reforms and tax cuts, and it energized the American economy once again.
Trump also said in a statement that Gary is a most talented person. Trump also thanked him for providing his unforgettable dedicated service to the people of United States. On Tuesday, Trump indicated on Twitter that a major decision will come very soon. Trump also said that he will make a decision very soon regarding the appointment of new Chief Economic Advisor of White House. He added in his tweet that there are a number of people showing their willingness, but the new selection will take place wisely. Gary’s departure is linked to the recent moves in assigning himself to his national trade agenda. It also raised various questions regarding the directions of Trump administration. Now, Cohn has become the latest victim in a series of top-profile resignations.
