Pelosi delivered her remarks in impeachment debate and says “He Gave Us No Choice”
On Wednesday, the U.S President Donald Trump has become the 3rd president in American history to be impeached. The U.S House of Representatives gathered to vote on whether the U.S President abused the power of his office by attempting to extort a political favor from Ukraine and then obstructed the subsequent congressional investigation into his conduct. Trump insists in his defense that he has done nothing wrong and the current process is a partisan “witch hunt” against him. He also wrote a six-page letter to the U.S House speaker Nancy Pelosi alleging House Democrats of declaring open war on American democracy.
The U.S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi delivered her opening remarks on Wednesday to the ongoing debate over impeachment. She said, “Very sadly now, our founder’s vision of the Republic is under threat from actions from the White House. That is why today, as Speaker of the House, I soundly and sadly open the debate on the impeachment of the president of the United States. If we do not act now, we will be derelict in our duty. It is tragic that the president’s reckless actions make impeachment necessary. He gave us no choice”. She added, “What we are discussing today is the established fact that the president against violated the constitution. It is a matter of fact that the president is again an ongoing threat to our national security. And the testimony of the decorated war heroes distinguished diplomats and betrayed career public servants, some of the president’s own appointees over the past weeks have told us this”.
The husband of Kellyanne Conway (a top White House adviser) wrote on Twitter, “Such Atrocious Lies by the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats, This is an Assault on America, And an Assault On the Republican Party”.
