Trump must be removed from Office to secure 2020 Election: Democrats

The U.S House Democrats have filed a brief impeachment trial saying the U.S President Donald Trump must be removed from office to secure the 2020 election, to preserve the U.S constitution, and to protect National Security. Democrats alleged the U.S president abused the powers of his office and abandoned his oath to faithfully execute the laws and betrayed his public trust in his dealings with Ukraine. It also argued that Trump’s behavior to pressurize the Ukrainian President to launch an investigation into his political rival was the worst nightmare to the U.S constitution. The document says the U.S Senate should convict and terminate President Trump to prevent serious and long term damage to our democratic values.

The legal team of President Trump immediately hit back and argued that impeachment was a dangerous attack on the right of the American people to freely choose their president. The lawyers of Trump said, “This is a brazen and unlawful attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election and interfere with the 2020 election, now just months away”. The 111-page impeachment trial brief was filed ahead of the 5 pm deadline on Saturday. It was signed by House intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff and 6 other House managers. The document supports the abuse of power and obstruction of Congress charges against the U.S President.

The document further adds, “President Donald Trump used his official powers to pressure a foreign government to interfere in a United States election for his personal political gain. He then attempted to cover up his scheme by obstructing Congress’s investigation into his misconduct”. The U.S constitution provides a solution of impeachment and removal when the President commits such serious abuses of his office. It says, now the Senate must use this solution to secure the 2020 U.S election to protect our constitutional form of government and eliminate the threat that the President poses to America’s National Security. U.S House Democrats said, “The case against the U.S President is simple, the facts are indisputable, and the evidence is overwhelming”.
