Elizabeth Jean Carroll is an American journalist and advice columnist. Her Ask E. Jean, column being appeared in Elle magazine since 1993. It was ranked one of the 5 best magazine columns by the Chicago Tribune in 2003. Carroll wrote in New York magazine, on June 21, 2019 that Donald Trump sexually assaulted her in the fall of 1995 or the spring of 1996 in a Bergdorf Goodman store in New York City. BBC News described it as a rape allegation. It is noteworthy that Carroll wrote she hadn’t had sexual intercourse with anyone since the alleged assault. She also wrote that she had told 2 friends about the incident.
The White House and Trump rejected the allegation. Trump also denied having ever met Carroll or knowing of her. Moreover, Carroll provided a photograph in the New York magazine. It shows a meeting between her and Trump in 1987 along with her then-husband and Trump’s then-wife Ivana. E Jean Carroll claimed she was fired from her job at Elle magazine. Carroll has alleged that Trump raped her in the 1990s after the two encountered each other in a Manhattan luxury department store and went into a dressing room, but the U.S President has rejected the allegation. Carroll has sued the U.S president for claiming that she was lying.
She tweeted on Tuesday, “Because Trump ridiculed my reputation, laughed at my looks & dragged me through the mud, after 26 years, ELLE fired me. I don’t blame Elle. It was the great honor of my life writing Ask E Jean”. Point to be noted that ELLE magazine ended Carroll’s contract in December 2019. Her tweet came the same day her lawyers told a court that Trump is allegedly trying to stop the truth from ever coming out by attempting to delay her defamation lawsuit and her effort to get his DNA. Carroll explained in a CNN interview that her decision wasn’t to call her assault as Rape. She mentioned it as a Fight because she will not be considered as the Victim.
