On Tuesday, the Press Secretary of White House Kayleigh McEnany appeared to defend the claim of the US President Donald Trump. He is reportedly alleged for repeatedly pushing a conspiracy theory that Joe Scarborough murdered a former staff member in 2001. McEnany pointed out a years-old interview in which the former Florida GOP congressman is mocking with then-MSNBC morning show host Don Imus regarding his new evening show on the network. Imus said that Scarborough had sex with the intern so you had to kill her. Scarborough laughs. As Imus continued riffing, Scarborough said, “What are you gonna do”? McEnany responded to questions about Trump pushing the conspiracy theory during a Tuesday press briefing.

McEnany discovered nearly 20-years ago by local police who announced the death in an accident and said it is Scarborough. Now, the morning show host of MSNBC must answer for the staff member’s death. She was asked it if matters that Trump is the president of the United States while making such serious allegations. McEnany said Scarborough should have to answer about the incident. She also criticized the team of Morning Joe for making ‘false statements’, such as the president being responsible for the over 100,000 Americans who have died from coronavirus.

President Trump has taken to Twitter for weeks to suggest the former Florida House member was responsible for the death of Lori Klausutis. The conspiracy theory was first pushed by left-wing opponents of Scarborough. It was picked up by Trump and many on the right because the MSNBC morning show host is a leading critic of the President. The local police announced that Klausutis died after hitting her head on a desk after she fainted due to an undetected heart problem. Trump used tweets over the long Memorial Day holiday weekend and then on Tuesday morning to push the theory again. Trump said about whether or not Scarborough is guilty, “Maybe or maybe not”.
