RadioShack Started a Crypto Campaign and Launched its Own Crypto Token $RADIO
The 100-years old electronics store, RadioShack is very attractive in the public eye for its jittery posts on Twitter. The recent tweet from the company went viral saying “If you find a squirter marry her”. This tweet encountered mixed reactions from online users and received many replies & shares on the social platform.
But its recent tweet went viral for a different reason. The Miami-based enterprise Retail Ecommerce Ventures LLC has obtained the electronic goods seller. Tai Lopez is its Executive Chairman and Alex Mehr is the Chief Executive. So, RadioShack has now become a crypto company.
RadioShack is Still Offering Electronics Goods
This tweet has identically supported the then electronic store in getting more consideration from users. Moreover, RadioShack has affiliated with the Crypto campaign and launched its own crypto exchange, the Radio Shack Swap. The company has also launched its own Crypto token, the $RADIO. Keep in mind that $RADIO is currently trading nearly at a penny.
The $RADIO has now dropped to two-thirds of its pre-crash value due to the crypto market crash. The website of RadioShack is still offering electronic goods for sale. Meanwhile, the front page of the website is energetically displaying its crypto offerings. The main page shows the RadioShack Swap is LIVE now and has become the latest brand and a central point to crypto.
RadioShack with an NFT Collection and Defi Protocol
The main objective of the company is to become the first protocol and cover the gap between Crypto and Blockchain. Moreover, RadioShack has also presented an NFT collection with a new Defi Protocol to motivate the most distrustful Crypto consumers. The website said it understands the generational gap between an average business decision-maker and an average crypto user.
However, this difference builds a psychological boundary for the older generation regarding Crypto operation. It is noteworthy that RadioShack Corporation is an American retailer established in 1921. RadioShack operated stores at their peak in 1999. The company operated its stores named RadioShack or Tandy Electronics in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.
General Wireless Inc. Bought Company’s Assets in 2015
RadioShack also licensed other companies to use its brand name in other countries. These countries include some parts of Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and North Africa. The company filed for Chapter 11 protection under US bankruptcy law in February 2015. It was the time when the company was just operating in the United States and Latin America.
General Wireless Inc., (a colleague of Standard General) bought the company’s assets in May 2015. The assets include the RadioShack brand name and associated property for $26.2 million. However, General Wireless Operations Inc. was established to operate the RadioShack store. The General Wireless IP Holdings LLC was also founded to maintain the associated property.
RadioShack Corporation Sold the Rights Around the World
RadioShack Corporation sold the rights of the RadioShack brand to various entities around the world during its bankruptcy proceeding in 2015. Moreover, Mexico-based Grupo Gigante owns the RadioShack brand within Mexico through its partner RadioShack de México. El Salvador-based Unicomer Group owns the RadioShack brand in the Caribbean and the rest of Latin America.
Moreover, the Egypt-based Delta RS for Trading owns the RadioShack brand in the Middle East and North Africa. It is important that General Wireless IP Holdings LLC maintained the rights of the RadioShack brand in various regions. But it mainly operates in the United States due to the Corporation doesn’t have the rights to the RadioShack brand. So, the company isn’t operating in other parts of the world.
