A 17 Years Old Insensible Girl Raped by a Uber Driver
On Thursday, a driver of Uber was charged with four felony counts in Southern California for sexual attack and allegedly raping an insensible 17 years old girl on Saturday morning, when she was travelling to her home in Laguna Beach. The 23 years old suspect Samer Alaaeldin Mehran was recently released on parole of 100,000 and he can also face at least 28 years of prison after found guilty. The Orange County Police informed that a member of victim’s family called for an Uber to pick her from Huntington Beach on Saturday at 2:00 am. When the girl didn’t reach on time, her family members got worried. They used tracking feature of Uber and a member reached at the tracking result location near the vehicle of Mehran parked close to the home of victim.
The family member discovered that Mehran was attacking sexually to insensible girl at the backseat of the vehicle. Mehran was escaped from the scene when the family member tried to help the girl. The police of Laguna Beach also collected the information stored in Uber and arrested Mehran from his home on the next day. Uber also forwarded an e-mail to CNET and indicated that “We are shocked by this incident and we are with the victim’s family by hearts. We will provide any kind of support for police investigation throughout the process. It is important that before this new case, two Uber drivers had made sexually assault using Uber platform. All these ashamed cases started criticisms regarding the background and checking process of Uber.
