A Mexican Boy Died Due to a “Love Bite” on His Neck

The Mexican media reports indicated that a Mexican City resident 17-years old boy has died due to a stroke supposedly caused by a freckle allegedly received from his girlfriend. The reports further indicated that emergency medical treatment received by a boy named Julio Macia Gonzalez resident of Iztapalapa after suffering seizure at the dinner table while he was enjoying dinner with her 24-years old girlfriend named Iris. The paramedic team found a large purple scratch on the neck of Gonzalez and they identified it as chupetón (a stain), but they were unable to save Gonzalez’s life. Doctors indicated that a blood clotting was generated due to this stain or hickey and it travelled hypodermically into the brain of Gonzalez which caused a stroke.

The CBS News New York contacted to a stroke expert, the expert said that it is rare but possible for causing a stroke generated by a stain or hickey. A neurologist Dr. Mitchell Elkind said that direct pressure on the carotid artery can generate a tear in the vessel, losing a blot cluster that can reach into the brain. He further added that these kinds of cases are rare, but possible. There is another similar incident of stain or hickey caused a stroke. The news report indicated that this incident was happened in 2011 in Auckland, New Zealand where a 44-years old woman was paralyzed to a degree after a hickey or Love Bite on her neck. This Love Bite also caused a blood cluster which reached in her heart, but she was treated with an anticoagulant drug and survived.
