A Muslim Girl Reported Hate Crime, but why she was arrested by New York Police?
The New York police arrested 18 years old teen Yasmin Seweid from New Hyde Park, Long Island. She was arrested on charges of filing an incorrect report and hanging up governmental administration. The parents of Seweid are Egyptian immigrants and they were found in news stories when she accused that she was vocally assaulted by three men on a subway. They insulted her using anti-Muslim descriptions and mentioned the name of elected U.S president Donald Trump. Police indicated that the student of Baruch College later revoked the story and self-confessed in making it up to cheat her parents after disregarding a curfew. Seweid had posted on her Facebook to tell reporters and police and said that “Trump America is real & I witnessed it at first hand, last night”.
Police indicated that her family reported last week about missing of Seweid and said “Yasmin Seweid was last seen at 8 pm leaving her home in New Hyde Park, Long Island wearing a black head scarf, black jacket, blue sweater and black yoga pant along with a bag of clothing. Just after one day of this report, her family again reported about her safe return. Seweid said that she was attacked vocally by 3 drunk men last week on a subway in New York city. New York Daily News also reported that due to unavailability of evidence of her alleged claim, the detectives of NYPD again questioned Seweid and she finally self-confessed in making incorrect harassment story. The police source said that she was arrested on the same day because nothing happened and there wasn’t any victim regarding the alleged story.
