As has been the case since he became president, a large majority of Republicans at least 85% continue to approve of the job Trump is doing, while most Democrats at least 89% and independents more than 55% disapproved. At least 66% Americans said that the economy of the United States is good. Since Mr. Trump took his office, at least 6 in 10 have consistently rated the economy positively. More than 39% Americans think Mr. Trump’s policies are making the economy better. At least 80% Republicans are especially likely to think that, as are many independents more than 38%. The public is more critical of the policies of Trump as it relates to the position of United States in the world. More than 55% Americans think that the policies of president Trump are making the United States less respectful. Most independents and at least 8 in 10 Democrats hold this view and two-thirds of Republicans think policies of Trump are making the United States more respectful.
