Collapse Iran Nuclear deal will endanger U.S in Iraq
The deadline of 12th May is more important for Donald Trump to withdraw from the Iran nuclear agreement. This day has its own importance because Iraqis will also go to the polls to vote for a new Iraqi parliament. The election in Iraq has been largely overlooked due to the tension over the decision of the U.S. president. It would be very difficult to mention the significance of the ballot for Washington and Tehran. Iran is looking to establish a pro-Iranian government in Iraq, so Tehran is better placed to hit back at the United States after re-imposing sanctions on Iran. The significant amount of victory against Daesh and Islamic State in Iraq has been a major breakthrough for U.S.-backed Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
But, Iran is working towards shifting its political balance in Iraq in its own favor prior to the exit of U.S. forces. It would finish the strategic partnership between Iraq and the United States. It will ultimately undermine stability in Iraq and might strengthen Iran in the Middle East at the expense of the United States. It is important that Iraq is the only country where the U.S forces were able in managing their objectives. The United States withdraws U.S forces from Iraq in 2011 but made a comeback in 2014. America provided a significant amount of support against Daesh and Islamic State in Iraq. Now, Iran is intensifying its efforts in strengthening its political partnerships in the region, especially with Iraq. Trump has to decide to stay in if the European Union manages in mentioning new sanctions for Iran.
