County Clrek Again Withholds Licenses for Same-sex Marriages
On 27th August 2015, James Yates and William Smith Junior were refused by Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis. According to the news William Smith and James Yates (local residents) were rejected by a deputy clerk in Davis’ office yesterday when they asked for issuance of same sex marriage license. Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk is continuously getting back same sex marriage licenses from its local residents. The deputy said that Davis confirmed that license holders can hold down their marriage licenses till 31st August 2015, because an order released earlier in the month of August 2015 by a District Judge. Kim Davis has rejected for issuance of new same sex marriage licenses.
A couple James Yates and William Smith visited third time at the Davis’ office on 27th August 2015 requesting for issuance of license of same marriage. They said that ‘we are mentally upset and waiting for someone who say that we can get our marriage license’. Kim Davis didn’t appear to give any comment regarding this issue. Some sources said that 6th Circuit U.S Court rejected an appeal of Kim Davis to give order for the issuance of same sax marriage licenses, despite the religion on same sex marriage. William Smith and James said that we are living together for 10 years and got engaged in the month of June 2015, but we are in trouble after the decision of the Supreme Court to push down this law and banned on gay marriage nationwide.
