“Dead Cops” Chanted by Protesters 3 Days Before Killing of NYPD Officers
Listen to this article

A Facebook user Wesley Scott Alexander posted a video on 10th July 2016 allegedly mentioned invocation by the protesters of Black Lives Matter (BLM) and demanded “dead cops”. This call was three days after a shooting incident took place in Dallas, in which five police officers were killed and many injured. The stress was high between white police officers and black civilians at the time when this video was posted. A week later, three more police officers were killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Most of the readers believed that the incidents in Dallas, Baton Rouge and chant were coexisting. Some of the social media users also declared that protesters had shouted outside a hospital in Dallas for “dead cops”.

The appeal of Alexander to users for sharing this video clip due to the media didn’t highlight about the protesters of Black Lives Matter shouted loudly for dead cops. It is important that July 2016 wasn’t the specific month that this specific photograph caused confusion. Just before killing of two police officers of New York City Police, a video was uploaded by Fox News on 15th December 2014 on YouTube. Two police officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were killed on 20th December 2014 and the above mentioned video clip was appeared on Facebook 5 days before this incident. Point to be noted that this video clip and some information were mentioned in another video clip posted online on 10th July 2016 about Black Lives Matter Myths.
