Did Trump ask advisers regarding Military Action against Venezuela?

A senior U.S administrations official said that the U.S President Donald Trump asked various top-level foreign policy advisers regarding the feasibility of threatening Venezuela during a meeting in August 2017 regarding diplomatic sanctions the U.S was executing on the dictatorial government. Former National Security Adviser HR McMaster fearlessly advised him not to take a military action against Venezuela. McMaster warned Trump that it could generate a backfire. He also explained that U.S allies in the region were strongly against such extreme action. The official added that the U.S President says and thinks various different things and he just thinks out loud. On Wednesday, the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro reacted against the comments of Trump. He advised the armed forces of the country not to lower their guard.

Maduro said during a military ceremony in Caracas that Venezuela wants to defend its right for peace, prestige, and the right of Venezuelan people to choose their own destiny. He added that no one has the right to choose for Venezuela and a military action from the U.S administration should never be considered a solution for the problems of Venezuela. He said that our people have the right to live in peace. Point to be noted that Trump continuously pressed Latin American leaders regarding the feasibility of invasion. Trump met with those leaders on the sidelines of the U.N General Assembly and all of them said that they don’t need any kind of military invasion from the United States against Venezuela. It is important that the U.S Vice President Mike Pence met with the Venezuelan opposition leaders a number of times during his recent trips to Latin America and criticized the Venezuelan government.
