Did Trump Sign an Executive Order to Allow Americans Hunt Bald Eagles?
A website “StGeorgeGazette.com” published an article in the month of May 2017 and reported that the U.S President Donald Trump had signed an executive order permitting people to hunt bald eagles. The article further indicated that Trump said, “There are nothing more American and more of a symbol of freedom than hunting and killing a bald eagle. It will allow Americans to get benefit of their 2nd Amendment rights in the most possible Patriotic way”. The article also added a video to include rightfulness of the claim and showed that Trump was signing an executive order (but it shouldn’t be considered an order to allow American to hunt bald eagles). When we tried to find the authenticity of the story, we found that the story wasn’t real.
There were various links and a video added coating for reputability to an entirely fake story article. The website used Trump signing executive order photograph captured in February 2017, but this event was specific to signing an executive order for regulatory reform task forces. The website also added an audio regarding fictional bald eagle order and a fake tweet using unauthentic account to show rightfulness of the claim. Point to be noted that the U.S President Donald Trump has signed a number of executive orders since his office joining in January 2017 and it can be viewed on the official website of the White House. But, Trump didn’t sign any executive order on 8th May 2017 to allow Americans hunting the national bird of the United States. It is important that bald eagles are protected by the U.S federal law. So, the buying, selling, harming and killing bald eagles or golden eagles are prohibited.
