E.Coli Outbreak – Chipotle Temporarily Closes Over 40 Outlets
The Washington Department of Health issued a statement on 31st October 2015 about E. coli cases in Oregon and Washington. The Health Department decided to close temporarily some of the Chipotle Mexican Grill outlets in both these states. A large number of illness cases were reported due to E. coli in Oregon and Washington states and most of the cases were showing link with the Chipotle restaurants in these states. The Health Department delivered a message for citizens to contact medical consultant it you have eaten from Chipotle restaurant and it you are experiencing syndrome problem such as diarrhea, fever, vomiting and abdominal cramps.
After few days, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a statement regarding closing of some Chipotle restaurants and confirmed that most of the cases have been found in the state of Washington. The Center of Disease and Control & Prevention and FDA said that Federal and local officials in Washington and Oregon states are investigating about these incidents that caused infections of E. coli and most of the cases are showing link to the Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants in both states. It is also said that more than 25 people have been infected by E. coli in which 20 in Washington and 5 in Oregon states. The Associated Press also reported that Clackamas and Washington counties in the state of Oregon and Cowlitz, King, Skagit and Clark counties in the state of Washington. The Department of Health warned that these cases can be increased, so we should take some immediate steps to overcome these problems.
