Email Account of White House Chief of Staff was Hacked
Buzzfeed received an email from the FOIA (Freedom of Information) indicating that the personal email account of John Kelly (White House Chief of Staff) was hacked. Kelly wrote in his email that “my folks are nervous about the emails you send and ask that you no longer include them on any postings. Then, hacking took place and one of my personal accounts has recently experienced. I do almost everything now by phone or face-to-face communications”. The previous reports of Politico now confirmed from the email of FOIA that the White House Chief of Staff John Kelly used an exposed smart-phone for several months. Point to be noted that original reports were never confirmed by the White House. The alleged hacking incident took place during the changeover of Trump in late 2016.
It was the time when John Kelly was the Secretary of Homeland Security. An unnamed spokesperson for the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) said that it was a private citizen who had forwarded a number of emails to the DHS and Kelly. It is still unclear whether Kelly used the hacked email account to manage government business or there was any kind of sensitive material on it. The NSA reportedly informed the officials of Trump administration not to use their personal email accounts and cell phones. It was due to they might be reachable for spying operations by Russia, China and other U.S enemies. Trump himself might be the weakest point in the White House. It is important that the U.S President Trump reportedly rejecting upgrading his iPhones. The smart-phones were issued by the IT agencies of White House in making them safer.
