Google announced Maps Immersive View on Wednesday during the Google I/O Event. The new enhancement in Google Maps would enable users to experience the most advanced version of street view. Now users are able to interact with the collaborative features on the Immersive view. However, the new feature is currently available for just a few cities in the beta version on every phone.

The tech giant has been continuously working on Artificial Intelligence tech for the past several years. Google has now started the implementation of AI tech on its various products. The company also performed a similar operation to Google Maps Immersive View. Google will offer more immersive 3D views of every street in a city or your desired location in an urban area.

A Google blog said people can virtually climb over Westminster to see the community, striking engineering, and remarkable architecture. It clearly indicates that you can virtually find specific streets, restaurant tours, and your desired location. It is noteworthy that satellites will serve to provide the images to make the immense view of any street.

Time Slider is a new feature of Google Maps

However, Google Maps Immersive View is aimed at providing attractive satellite images of your desired location. The newly released feature will enable users to plunge into the landmarks or any search for a specific scenario. Google Maps currently has ratings, reviews, and picture uploading features.

But the company has now added an attractive feature “Time Slider”. The Time slider feature will allow users to see how the lookout or area is changing in a specific timeframe.

Moreover, the Google blog has pointed out specific cities with the availability of the Maps Immersive View feature later this year. These cities include London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and San Francisco. But the company will add various other cities from around the world after the trial.

Google Maps Immersive API and Eco-Friendly Routing

Google has also intended to introduce many other features such as Google Maps Immersive API and Eco-friendly routing.

Google Maps Immersive API enables developers to participate in the development of various apps and web applets. These apps will have the ability to use the Google Maps Immersive feature for many operations. They can also collaborate in the further development of the APIs.

Eco-friendly routing on Google Maps would allow users to see which paths will consume less energy. It will also enable users to save energy to avoid pollution at a specific level. The tech giant is branding this feature as Eco-Friendly Routes.

New Feature announced at Google I/O Event

Meanwhile, various reports have also confirmed that Google is presenting a new feature for its Maps app. The company announced the new feature on May 11 at its Google I/O Event. The new Immersive View feature can take Street View to a new level.

This feature uses billions of images to construct trees and buildings in 3D in collaboration with machine learning. The Immersive View could help people to plan their first-ever trip to a city or neighborhood. They can search a city to see restaurants, neighborhoods, and landmarks.

People can also find how it seems during a specific time of day and in different weather conditions. However, Live View uses AR to provide directions and arrows on your screen. This tech is also available to developers for free with the newly announced ARCore Geospatial API.
