Huawei is continuously defending itself against allegations that ties to the Chinese government make it a security threat to other countries and claims that it has stolen technology from others. Now, the company has announced a lawsuit against the United States. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas. The chairman of the company, Guo Ping claimed at a press conference today in China that it was left with no choice after the actions of the U.S Congress. Ping said that moves to limit its countries harmed both the U.S and China. He added, “Huawei has not and will never implant any backdoors, and will not allow anyone else to do so”.

The company also blamed the U.S government of hacking its servers and stealing emails. The U.S government is smearing the company without any evidence and blocking its ability to compete in 5G technology around the world. Huawei focused on Section 889 of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The section was targeted by name to block federal agencies from working with the company, which it believes is illegal without a fair trial.

Global Cyber Security & Privacy Officer, John Suffolk said, “Now that’s not to say that we are perfect. It’s not to say that we always produce perfect code. It’s not to say that we always execute every process first time correctly. No organization in the world can say that. But what we can say is this: We will continue to make multi-billion dollar investments into our R&D and our security”. The Chief Legal Officer Dr. Song Liuping also said that Huawei is not owned, controlled or influenced by the Chinese government. Moreover, Huawei has an excellent security record and program. Huawei said that the company is willing to work with the U.S government to resolve any security concerns.
