‘ I was Racially Profiled in Corinth,’ Dorothy Bland
A website ‘Dallas Morning News’ published an article on 28th October 2015 which was credited to the Dean of Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism, Dorothy Bland at the University of North Texas. She claimed that police stopped her and questioned about walking with a black. She added that she was interrupted by police with sirens and flash lights when she was outside in my golf-course community in Corinth for a routine morning walk on Saturday. The police officers were equipped with armed weapons. They stopped me and started questioning but they didn’t ask any reasonable question. They also asked me about my identification and my living location.
She answered about location that ‘Around the corner’, because it was her neighborhood. She said that she is a taxpayer and paid a heavy amount of taxes. But she said that asking about my ID was senseless because you should give answer that how many people carry their ID with them during a morning walk? The attached clip indicated that police officers were following for one minute in their patrol car, but we could not hear any kind of siren in the uploaded video. The police officers stopped her when she was on a morning walk then they called her to come near to them. She described it as the incident of racial profiling. She also claimed that she was asked for photograph identification. But we could not clarify whether it is true or it contains a fabricated potion in the description.
