Images of Elephant Attack on Ian Gibson Emerge
On 29th August 2015, a Facebook page ‘Some Amazing Facts’ shared pictures in their post of a wild elephant attacking on a car. The post indicated that these pictures are related to the death of Ian Gibson, a hunter of big games. One of these pictures in the post showing that elephant is doing nothing with the Ian Gibson’s car. The photographs have been taken in the month of August 2014 at South Africa’s Pilanesberg National Park. The website of Pilanesberg National Park also published a story of an elephant scratching a Volkswagen automobile which was passing near to the elephant.
This amazing picture was taken by a 21 year old Armand Grobler, a field guide and lodge manager in the Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa. Grobler said that this kind of situation could be created when a male elephant has a heavy amount of testosterone, and we think that elephant was facing such kind of condition. But the elephant didn’t show any aggressive movement or any kind of frustration but looking in a playful mood. The elephants only use small trees and logs to relieve an itch. We believe that posted photographs of an elephant encountering an automobile don’t mention a wild attack. So, the displayed image is unrelated to Gibson’s death. But, it is true that Ian Gibson killed by a wild elephant on 15th April 2015 and Safari Classics also published a news on their website about the death of big game hunter Ian Gibson.
