Multiple reports said the law enforcement authorities are searching for the killers of famous Indian rapper and politician Sidhu Moose Wala. Some unknown killers shot him when he was driving near his home on Sunday near the Mansa district, Punjab, India. 28-years old singer and politician Subhdeep Singh Sidhu got a bullet injury.

The Punjab police chief Viresh Kumar Bhawra said he was taken to the hospital but didn’t survive. He also said around 30 empty casings were collected at the crime scene. These empty casings belong to more than 3 different weapons such as a 9mm handgun. Moreover, Punjab police associated the brutal attack with gang conflict with a gang member from Canada.

Police said the Canadian gang member allegedly claimed the responsibility for attacking and killing the singer. However, the Indian political parties have accused the ruling party of Punjab, the AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) of this incident. The point to be noted is that Subhdeep Singh Sidhu was killed in state-sponsored murder.

BJP blamed Aam Aadmi Party for the incident

Bhartiya Janata Party issued a statement and said the government of the Aam Aadmi Party is entirely responsible for this incident. The chief minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann said the government will put the killer of Moose Wala behind the bars. He said that he was really shocked and deeply saddened by the brutal murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

Mann also said that he will arrest all criminals involved in this murder. He said his prayers and thoughts are with Sidhu’s family and his lovers around the world. He also appealed to everyone to stay calm during this unexpected incident. Point to be noted that Moose Wala left his home in a car with 2 other people at around 4.30 p.m.

Punjab Government failed to protect Moose Wala

Bhawra said after one hour, 2 cars reportedly stopped the vehicle of Sidhu from the front and opened fire. The incident came after an announcement from the state government of Punjab. The government pulled back the formerly provided security cover. It is important that the government pulled back security cover for 424 officials and 122 politicians including Moose Wala.

Most critics said the decision would make individuals exposed to become victims or face a brutal attack. Bhawra said Moose Wala previously had access to 4 commandos. But 2 of them were reassigned to cover the anniversary of a Sikh massacre. However, Moose Wala still had access to 2 private armed security guards.

Moose Wala refused Police Protection

Bhawra added that he selected to travel without police protection on Sunday. Moose Wala didn’t take police commandos with them when he left his house. The politician also had access to a bulletproof car but rejected to use it. Moose Wala became famous in 2017 after the release of his first song. He became one of the most famous musicians.

However, the singer had around 8 million Instagram followers and his music videos have earned millions of YouTube views. His partner rapper Drake also responded to his death and shared a photo on Instagram. The singer entered into politics and joined the Indian National Congress party in 2021. He also participated in the legislative elections in February.
