More than 160 people were killed and more than 350 injured on 13th November midnight during a number of synchronized attacks by the terrorists of ISIS in the heart of Paris. In this scenario, the Facebook presented a profile photo overlay for the flag of France in order to convey the support, unification and harmony with France. A Facebook user published a reproduced warning on their group page ‘Military Mama Network’ on 16th November 2015. This page indicated by adding a profile image filters was presenting a threat of security. The ISIS militants warned the Military personnel to remove the image profile picture of French flag otherwise ISIS would hit their families and homes.
Point to be noted that poster self-confessed that statement made little sense and affirmed that French flag representation didn’t compromise the security for the military personnel and their families. But this page indicted that ISIS is using to track down military personnel and their homes. We consider it as stupid thinking because there are a large number of people from all around the world sharing this specific Facebook profile photo overlay of flag. Only military personnel and their families are not sharing it and the people sharing this flag photo are not just Americans. We have found that most of the users sharing this photo are not from military or their families but thousands of people from all around the world. We are still unable to find any authentic version of this claim by ISIS and don’t understand that how can they filter to choose the military personnel and their family members using this Facebook page.
