McDonald to Replace Workers with Self-service Kiosks
McDonald’s is planning to replace workers using self-service cabins according to the law of minimum 15 U.S dollars. A debate was conducted on increasing the minimum wage up to 15 U.S dollars in some areas in the United States. The website BuzzFeed published an article that McDonald’s is trying out to develop a fast food chain for ordering using cabins. This article also explained about the success implementations of McDonald’s cabins in Europe and encouraged the chain for implementation in the United States. These fast food chains are providing new ways to customers for ordering their foods without interaction of cashier. Labor costs are rising day by day and customers need to get faster and better services.
The success implementation of machines for burger chain encouraged the self-service cabins that are increasing at McDonald’s restaurants in the United States. A number of McDonald’s cabins disclosed by media such as an article published by Los Angeles Times that discussed about test cabins, their benefits and related issues. But Los Angeles Times or BuzzFeed didn’t mention about minimum wage of 15 U.S dollars. The website PSFK also published in October 2014 regarding the implementations of McDonald’s cabins in Australia and discussed many reasons behind its implementation. The executives of American McDonald’s said in November 2013 in an article published by Orange County Register that McDonald’s testing custom premium burgers. It is true that McDonald’s has started testing self-service cabins since 2011, but it is not clear and considered as a false news about the implementation of a chain in accordance to the increasing minimum wages.
