Microsoft Terminated More Employees Following A 10K Jobs Cuts
Microsoft announced the dismissals and reduction in jobs at the company in January 2023. The terminations at Microsoft still continue, which resulted in 10 thousand job cuts at the company. Geek Wire reported that it will impact around 276 people in its home state of Washington.
Most of the workers were expelled from its customer service, sales, and support. Around 66 staff members of the 276 employees were working remotely. Many distressed employees from the Washington division were also moved to LinkedIn.
Former Microsoft employees are going to LinkedIn to find new jobs. It is strange for Microsoft to drop its manpower just a week after the beginning of its fiscal year 2024. A spokesperson for the company also informed a news outlet about the issue.
The Recent Move of Termination

The letter said the company will continue to hire in major strategic sectors and terminate functions in some areas. Microsoft is constantly cutting jobs through divisions after the layoff announcement. However, HoloLens, Xbox, LinkedIn, and many others will be laid off in the next few months.
The tech giant is massively investing in the AI sector, on the other hand, especially through Bing Chat. This year, some big tech firms including Microsoft have also terminated thousands of employees. The layoffs tracker “Layoff.fyi” said 839 tech firms have terminated a total of 2, 16,328 workers in 2023.
Massive Termination from Google and Twitter
The tech industry is now moving across a broken time. Major tech firms such as Google, Microsoft, Twitter, and many others have terminated thousands of global workers in recent days. However, most of these firms are showing multiple moves of terminations. The reports said Microsoft is one of these firms laying off hundreds of workers in the United States.
Reports also said that Microsoft has dropped 559 more jobs. These jobs were dropped from the security operations department in Redmond and Bellevue. The Seattle Times reported that the termination moves the total number of terminations to 2743 in Seattle.
This move came after the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, announced the initial move of termination in January 2023. The firm followed the announcement and cut 10,000 jobs and accused the evaluative macroeconomic conditions. Amazon and Meta have announced their 2nd move of dismissal and removed thousands of jobs globally.
Bing AI Chatbot from Microsoft
Nadella also informed employees in an email in January 2023. He said the company is discharging thousands of workers as an outcome of the macroeconomic environment and modifying customer precedence. The company is terminating jobs in some key areas and will continue to hire in major tactical fields.
