There was an offseason before the MLB stoppage and a furious one. But it suddenly finished at the beginning of December while most of the work was still remaining.
The following is the detail related to the implications of the Fantasy Baseball of the entire remaining work. You can also find out the original Offseason Tracker.
Nelson Cruz has signed with Nationals
Nelson Cruz made a critical move in signing with a non-contender, the Nationals for just $15 million. He was supposedly needed to play with Juan Soto.
It is still a success to get Cruz out to Tampa because he had just a 0.122 ISO in his 2 months with the Rays than 0.283 on the road. So, his ADP is expected to rise from the 150 range.
Josh Donaldson, Gio Urshila, and Yankees for Gary Sanchez
Gary Sanchez was once a famous rising star at catcher and delivered 30-plus homers twice in a season. But he showed his favor with the Yankees because of the dreadful instabilities and defensive faults.
Josh Donaldson is a key name and spent most of his time in the IL. Last year, he earned average exit velocity with the 4th highest in baseball. However, the move to Yankee Stadium couldn’t change much for him.
The Twins reached Urshila in a deal and traded all the left side of the infield. Miranda could break-in at 3rd base if Urshila stems at shortstop. Miranda could receive 2nd with Jorge Polanco sliding over to short if Urshila makes a move to 3rd base.
Sonny Gray traded to Twins
Sonny Gray will join his 4th team in 6 seasons as leaving Great American Ball Park is considered good for a pitcher. But most of Gray’s outs came with strikeouts or ground balls.
Last year, he had a 4.89 ERA at home than 3.44 on the road. But this move didn’t change his Fantasy appeal and he will support in making ground in strikeouts with a potential surprise.
The Rockies signed Alex Colome
The Rockies were forced to depend on Carlos Estevez with his career 4.85 ERA, while Colome is a better option. Colome was in and out of the role for Twins but earned a powerful finish and maintained a secure run.
Chris Bassitt joined Mets
Chris Bassitt earlier joined Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer but exits after a miserable situation in Oakland with the Athletics.
However, leaving Oakland could initiate other issues. Bassitt has a career of 2.58 ERA compared to earlier 4.34.
Mitch Garver with Rangers
Last year’s 0.875 OPS of Garver were the 3rd best among catchers with around 200 at-bats. He is one of the best hitters receiving the position in the top 10.
The Rangers will put him under the administration of a new manager for not forcing him into a 50/50 split. He is in line to rake over Kiner-Falefa as the primary shortstop for Twins.
Dodgers signed Clayton Kershaw
Clayton Kershaw will remain a key player in Dodger blue. However, he was confident before the elbow issue. He marked 2.87 x FIP as his best in the last 4-years. The swinging-strike rate of Kershaw was basically a career-high.
Blue Jays signed Yusei Kikuchi
A 3-year deal with Yusei Kikuchi is surprising as he earned a 5.39 ERA in his career. Last year, he has shown that he is good with a 3.18 ERA in his first 15 starts.
Kikuchi also made right at a strikeout per inning and his shaking strike rate was considered elite. He also became a victim of the foreign substance ban.
