New statement of Trump about anonymous article published by New York Times
The U.S President Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested that a New York Times op-ed from an unnamed Trump administration official might be Treason. The U.S President Trump mistakenly suggested in a Fox News interview that the article was a treasonous act. The top-ranking Trump administration members have started to distance themselves from the article. It draws a picture of a White House in chaos where officials deliberately work to thwart the president’s most dangerous impulses. Trump also said in the Montana rally that unelected deep state operatives have been considered a threat to democracy itself. He suggested the person may not be a Republican, it may not be a conservative, and it may be a deep state person who has been there for a long time.
Trump claimed in a Fox interview before the rally that what they’ve done is virtually, you know, it’s treason, you could call it a lot of things. He added that Treason has a very specific legal definition in the U.S constitution. It is related to the acts that aid countries with whom America is actively at war or to an American citizen mustering for military action against the U.S themselves. Republican senator, Lindsey Graham was blunt in his reaction to Trump’s claims on CNN. Graham said that this isn’t treason under the U.S Constitution. Trump said in the Fox interview, “I don’t mind when they write books and they write lies because they get discredited. He said that the decision of the New York Times to publish the anonymous article was really sad for the mainstream media.
