North Korean Ghost Ships Found in Japan
A website the Washington Post published an article on 2nd December 2015 with a title ‘Mysterious Ghost Ships Keep Washing up in Japan with on board bodies’. A news channel CNN also presented same kind of story on the same date and indicated as ‘Mysterious Korean Ghost Ships Found in Japan: What We Know’. We found that this story is not bright new because this kind of statement was also reported significantly by the Japanese Coast Guard for last five years. It is important that Japanese Coast Guards said that these kinds of activities are being happening for years. On 27th November 2015, ‘International Business Times’ posted an article with a title ‘Japan Investigating Mystery of North Korean Ghost Boats’ as reported by CNN in 2012.
They added that they found 58 in 2011, 48 in 2012, 85 in 2013 and 63 in 2014 and 38 in the current year found floating on sea. So, total 292 boats found in last five years. Point to be noted that Japanese Coast Guard didn’t disclose that how many boats were on board. The Japanese police and coast guard reported only 12 incidents of shattered wooden boats and some of them found in pieces in the waters and shores in the country since the month of October including 24 dead bodies and four skulls. It is important that North Korea has not yet mentioned any kind of missing boat. But, Kim Jong Un said that fishing is considered a most important way to earn foreign currency and it is providing a maintainable source of income to the people.
