US President Donald Trump once again criticized the family of the late John McCain. His comments came after McCain’s widow endorsed Joe Biden for the White House. President wrote in a Wednesday morning tweet and said he was never a fan of the US Senator. He targeted Cindy McCain just a day after she officially endorsed the former vice president in the 2020 elections. She mentioned Biden in a statement as a politician who stands up for our values as a nation. President Trump attacked the wife of former US Senator on Twitter and said, “I hardly know Cindy McCain other than having put her on a Committee at her husband’s request. Joe Biden was John McCain’s lapdog”.
President Trump added, “So many BAD decisions on Endless Wars & the V.A., which I brought from a horror show to HIGH APPROVAL. Never a fan of John. Cindy can have Sleepy Joe!” The comments of Trump came as Cindy McCain finds herself at the heart of a burgeoning coalition of prominent Republicans both past and present who have endorsed Biden for the presidency. It is not because of his positions on policy but instead what she has said is his moral character and commitment to American values. She wrote in a Tweet on Tuesday and said, “My husband John lived by a code: country first. We are Republicans, yes, but Americans foremost. There’s only one candidate in this race who stands up for our values as a nation, and that is @JoeBiden”.
It is noteworthy that President Trump regularly criticized former Senator McCain while running for the President and later when the two worked together in Washington. He denied that he was a war hero and saying he preferred veterans who weren’t captured by the enemy during their service. President Trump once again sharpened his criticism of the prominent conservative political family as McCain officially endorsed his opponent. Cindy McCain also spoke about her husband’s friendship with Biden at the Democratic National Convention. Point to be noted that some prominent Republicans like Mrs. McCain have also announced their support for Biden, including Jennifer Horn, Rick Wilson, and George Conway. These conservatives earlier launched the anti-Trump political group called Project Lincoln.
