US President Donald Trump has criticized Kamala Harris after the vice presidential debate on Wednesday night. He called the California senator unlikeable in an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo and claimed she is a communist. President was speaking about the Democratic vice presidential nominee’s debate performance. On Thursday morning, the president said, “She was terrible, totally unlikeable. And, she’s a communist”. He often used the label to attack the Democratic Party and his apparent enemies. Trump reportedly claimed at a campaign event in Ohio last month that the party’s platform was probably communist. President continued to refer to Kamala Harris as a Monster during his phone interview with Fox News. He described her at one point as the Monster who was on stage at the debate with Mike Pence.
President Trump has routinely targeted Kamala Harris with name-calling attacks. He also referred to her as a Mad Woman in previous statements. The President also claimed she may not be eligible to serve in the vice presidency. Point to be noted that Kamala Harris is the 1st black woman and 1st South Asian American to join a major party ticket in a presidential election. President made the comments about Harris in his first interview since it was reported he contracted Covid-19 last week. Trump was speaking to Fox from the White House, where he returned this week following an extended stay at Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland. He claimed to be the perfect physical specimen and said he had virtually no health problems which allowed him to fight off the coronavirus.
Trump’s doctors have pointed out that the President has a history of elevated cholesterol and was taking medicine to treat it. President said, “I’m back because I am a perfect physical specimen and I’m extremely young. So I am lucky in that way”. He was referring to Harris as a Monster sharply contradicted Vice President Mike Pence’s performance at Wednesday night’s debate. Pence commended the California senator on her nomination and both largely avoided any personal attacks. The president however spoke out against the debate commission’s decision to make the next presidential debate virtual. He said, “I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate, that’s not what debating is all about. You sit behind a computer and do a debate, it’s ridiculous. Then they cut you off whenever they want”.
