President Trump was confident for not contracting coronavirus during Indoor Rally in Nevada

US President Donald Trump wasn’t scared of contacting the coronavirus during an indoor rally in Henderson, Nevada. He showed confidence during speaking the Las Vegas Review-Journal. President said, “Because you know why I’m on a stage, it’s very far away, so I’m not at all concerned”. He wasn’t seemingly concerned for the health of the American people gathered to hear him speak. Point to be noted that they were standing in close proximity for hours ahead of his speech. Trump joked after the reporter’s question about the safety of the gathered crowd. He said, “I’m more concerned about how close you are”. The Governor of Nevada, Steve Sisolak also called the decision reckless and selfish to go ahead with an indoor rally during the coronavirus pandemic.

There was a crowd of at least 5,000 people and most of them were mask-less stood shoulder-to-shoulder to hear the President’s speech. President Trump alleged the Democratic governor for the situation. He said that he had canceled any proposed outdoor options, including at Las Vegas International Airport. Trump called the Governor a political hack and said, “They canceled six different sites because the governor wouldn’t let it happen, all external sites”. It is noteworthy that the current rules in Nevada prohibit gatherings of more than 50 people. Governor Sisolak issued a statement and said, “Tonight, President Donald Trump is taking reckless and selfish actions that are putting countless lives in danger here in Nevada”.

Sisolak added, “The president appears to have forgotten that this country is still in the middle of a global COVID-19 epidemic. At a time when Nevada is focused on getting our economy back on track and protecting public health, the president’s actions this weekend are shameful, dangerous, and irresponsible”. President Trump thanked the owner of Xtreme Manufacturing, Don Ahern, during his speech. He provided the venue and now faces fines for allowing the event to go ahead on his property. The last indoor rally held by the campaign was the 20 June event in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Governor Sisolak also said that Trump’s efforts to protect public health and get the state’s economy back on track were being recklessly disregarded by the president for his own gain.
