Prime Subscribers of Amazon Will Now Get One Year of Free GrubHub+ Membership
Amazon has announced that its Prime subscribers in the US will get a new benefit as part of their subscription. They are now able to retrieve a free year of the monthly subscription service Grubhub Plus. This service offers free food delivery on orders over $12 from dedicated restaurants. It is important that Grubhub Plus service typically costs $9.99 per month.
Moreover, free deliveries affiliated with Grubhub Plus are available from a lot of restaurants across 4,000 cities in the US. Grubhub will automatically begin charging $9.99/ month to continue after the end of the free subscription. Current subscribers of Grubhub Prime can also get the benefits of the promotion. They will get the promotion package at the beginning of their next billing cycle.
Keep in mind that the cancelation of a Prime subscription will automatically terminate GrubHub Plus. This deal was presented a couple of years after Amazon closed its Amazon Restaurants. It was the company’s own kick-off to keep pace in the takeaway delivery market. Amazon Restaurant service was live between 2015 and 2019. But it experienced massive competition from Door Dash and Uber Eats.
Amazon Previously Focused on Grocery Deliveries
The retailer has massively focused on grocery deliveries since then. But it has an eye on the takeaway delivery market in collaboration with other companies. In 2019, Amazon announced its investment plans in Europe-focused Deliveroo. Last year, it started offering access to Deliveroo Plus subscription service an additional option for Prime members in the UK.
Amazon is taking a 2% stake in Grubhub as part of the currently announced deal. It will reportedly reach 15% over time. CEO of Grubhub, Adam DeWitt also issued a statement. He said the company has reevaluated benefits with Prim. The retailer is hopeful that the current offer will discover various new restaurants to the value of Grubhub Plus.
Amazon’s Teaser Trailer for The Lord of the Rings
DeWitt added that it would motivate more businesses to become Amazon’s partners and drivers. However, GrubHub Plus isn’t the only extra benefit the e-commerce giant has today announced for its Prime members. Amazon is creating a trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for its upcoming TV show. It will be available exclusively for Prime subscribers for 2 days.
All members can now watch the teaser trailer on the Amazon page of the show. Moreover, the trailer ends by promising another teaser scheduled for 14th July just ahead of the release on 2nd September. Pcmag.com reported that Amazon Prime subscribers in the US are now able to sign up for a free Grubhub Plus.
Orders Over $12 Will Get Free Meals Delivery
The news outlet reported that it offers free delivery on orders over $12 including exclusive rewards, and a charity donation. More people are now getting offers of their free meal delivery options. But everyone isn’t joining the 3rd party takeaway app motivation. A spokeswoman for Grubhub said its company and Amazon have transformed the lives of Americans by providing them convenience.
New Grubhub restaurants from Amazon would enable Prime subscribers to get more deals to their door. However, membership comes without delivery fees on orders of $12 or more. You can access free food, order discounts, and donation matching through Donate the Change program of Grubhub. Current GrubHub Plus members can sign in or sign up for Prim or Prime Student to get this offer.
