A Russian MP said that the Trump administration is throwing the world towards another Cuban missile crisis. The U.S announcement to pull out from a major Cold-War era nuclear treaty will not be in the favor of United States. The U.S President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he will withdraw from the INF (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces) Treaty. This agreement stops productions of short and intermediate range nuclear and traditional missiles. He blamed Russia for violating the 1987 treaty agreement. Trump informed reporters after a rally in Nevada, “Russia has not, unfortunately, honored the agreement so we’re going to terminate the agreement and we’re going to pull out”.

The Russian upper parliament house MP, Alexei Pushkov said, “We will find ourselves at ground zero” after pulling out of the agreement, “at a point that led to the Cuban missile crisis”. He informed the Russian news agency TASS, ”The danger is that the United States is pushing the world to another Cuban missile crisis. Back then we were lucky to avoid an exchange of nuclear strikes, and only God knows what all this may end up in now”.

The deputy foreign minister of Russia, Sergei Ryabkov said that a unilateral withdrawal from the United States could be”Very dangerous”. It would lead to“Military-technical” retaliation. The former leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev negotiated the treaty with Ronald Reagan in 1987. Gorbachev said that it would be a mistake for Washington to pull out of the treaty. Most noteworthy, the U.S authorities believe Moscow is developing and has deployed a ground-launched system in breach of the INF treaty.
