Rights of Dr Pepper Soft Drink Sold Out to Coca-Cola
A large number of social media users experienced an image on Facebook at the start of April 2016 with a headline “An American Classic Says Goodbye!” and this image indicated that production of the popular “Dr Pepper” soft drink has been stopped immediately because the rights of “Dr Pepper” had been sold to the Coca-Cola.It was said that after 131 years of propitiation of American Dr Pepper had announced that its production would be stopped in the summer 2016. It was further said that its sales always showed constant level, now it was unable to compete with other available soda producers due to cheaper features. So, the rights of this item have been bought by Coca-Cola Corp.
When we tried to find out about its authenticity, we found that there is not any kind of truth in this story and it was just a rumor. Dr Pepper Snapple Group still owned and has the rights of the Dr Pepper soft drink. The rights for soft drink of Dr Pepper didn’t sell to Coca-Cola or any other company. Dr Pepper Snapple Group didn’t announce any type of plan to sell its flagship product and not announced to stop the production of “Dr Pepper” soft drink. It is important that “Dublin Dr Pepper” had been producing soft drink for last 121 years in Dublin, Texas at a bottling plant. They always use pure cane sugar instead of corn syrup. It had been considered the best product of Dr Pepper Group, but this plant was closed due to some technical reasons in 2012.
