Rudy Giuliani affirmed to defend Trump with Lectures and Demonstrations
The personal lawyer of Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani has affirmed to defend his client during the expected impeachment trial against the U.S President. He said that he will adopt any type of way such as giving lectures in the U.S Senate and doing demonstrations. Giuliani was speaking with The New Yorkers in the New Year’s Eve party at the U.S president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. He also suggested he could still try the case on behalf of Trump. Giuliani was asked if he would testify at the trial, the lawyer replied; “I would testify, I would do demonstrations, I’d give lectures, I’d give summations. Or, I’d do what I do best, I’d try the case. I’d love to try the case”. He added, “I don’t know if anybody would have the courage to give me the case. But if you give me the case, I would prosecute it as an unlawful case, which I kind of invented anyway let’s see if I could still do it”.
The former mayor of New York City, who formerly served as the U.S Attorney for the Southern District of New York said, “Giuliani has become a central figure in the impeachment drama in Washington”. It is noteworthy that the impeachment investigation stemmed from allegations first made by a whistleblower. He said that Trump sought a quid pro quo in a July phone call with a newly elected leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, for the provision of military aid and a visit to Washington DC. The reference “racketeering” of Trump’s personal attorney suggests the president’s lawyer would continue to make allegations linked to work Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s assumed unlawful activities in Ukraine.
Moreover, Giuliani’s own recent trip to Ukraine on an apparent fact-finding mission has come under scrutiny. Trump is alleged of eliminating the career of a U.S diplomat. It is because her presence in Ukraine hindered his private efforts to press Ukraine officials to launch an investigation into the Democrat candidate Joe Biden. It is important that Marie Yovanovitch claimed Giuliani was behind a campaign of disinformation that led to her being recalled early from Kyiv. Giuliani said in New Year’s Eve party, “I believed that I needed Yovanovitch out of the way. She was going to make the investigations difficult for everybody”.
