Tech Giants Including Google and Apple have Signed against Texas Transgender Bill
Listen to this article

Supposed legislation in Texas has dissatisfied some of the biggest names in the tech world with flaming accusation from the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook and 12 other major tech leaders. After its approval, this questionable state law would allow only transgender students to use restrooms after matching the gender printed on their birth certificate. At the other hand, Texan legislators continue to debate on the supposed “bathroom bill”. The powerful executives have forwarded a letter to the governor of the state and urged not to approve the “intolerant” legislation. Senior employees from Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and game developer Gearbox Software have co-signed the letter and claimed that proposed law would be “bad for business and bad for employees”.

Point to be noted that the Governor of Texas Greg Abbott has announced to pass the disputed bill before the start of June 2017. The tech companies mentioned in the letter forwarded to Abbott that we are large employers in the state and we deeply concerned that this kind of legislation would defame the reputation of Texas, as it is now open and friendly to families and businesses. Our abilities to motivate, encourage new business plans, investment and expansions, recruit and keep top talent and maintaining our economic affordability & attractiveness would be affected negatively. Discrimination is wrong and it doesn’t have any place in Texas or anywhere in the United States. It shouldn’t be considered that the tech industry has taken stand against issues for the first time about controversial transgender policies of Donald Trump.
