Testimony of 4 Witnesses would Force Trump to Resign: Scaramucci
Anthony Scaramucci (former White House communications director) has confirmed there are 4 key witnesses during the upcoming impeachment trial and it could force the U.S President to resign from the Office. Scaramucci said in a statement that Donald Trump would unable to handle the heat of testimonies from some of his top officials. He predicted that Trump would leave office before he could be removed by the U.S Senate. Scaramucci listed the key witnesses as Mick Mulvaney, John Bolton, Mike Pompeo, and Rudy Giuliani. He informed MSNBC’s Joy Reid, he said, “Those 4 people, whether it’s Mulvaney, Bolton, Giuliani, Pompeo if they have to testify under oath, Trump has to leave”.
Mulvaney and Pompeo are current Trump administration officials, acting as the White House chief of staff and secretary of the state respectively. Giuliani is Trump’s personal lawyer and Bolton is a former national security adviser. All 4 men were implicated by Gordon Sondland (the U.S ambassador to the EU) in an explosive impeachment hearing in the month of November. Sondland testified that senior administration officials were aware of a scheme to inappropriately pressure Ukraine to help Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. He informed the U.S Congress, he said, “Everyone was in the loop. It was not secret”. Scaramucci had a 10-day tenure at the White House before being fired.
Scaramucci was also alleged Republican senators of allowing Trump to break the law. The former official added, “By the way, the people that work with him know that he’s amoral and they know he’s lawless. Just go back to what John Kelly said: Hire a yes person, you’re going to get yourself impeached”. Republicans have resisted requests from Democrats for new witnesses and testimonies in the impeachment trial. The Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell reportedly needs a swift trial with few witnesses to shut down the impeachment process. The Senate is expected to vote against removing Trump from office after bitter partisan debates in the U.S House of Representatives.
