Gapiński has confirmed that version 2022.25.1 now offers 100% efficient CarPlay integration for any Tesla model vehicle. This version includes various new advanced features with bug fixes. It also supports DRM video playback to help apps such as Netflix function. The new version has a positioning lock to support apps such as Apple Music to automatically launch in landscape mode.
The new CarPlay version uses Android 12.1 for much better performance and durability. CarPlay of Gapiński uses a Wi-Fi access point and a Rasberry Pi with an LTE modem. It runs on custom Android-based BIOS, an Ethernet cable, and a micro-HDMI cable. The new version uses an in-car browser to connect the Rasberry Pi for displaying the CarPlay interface on the Tesla screen.
However, other functions of Apple apps such as Maps and Apple Music are also expected to join the app. The system is efficient while driving and users can control using the media buttons on the steering wheel of Tesla. Keep in mind that Tesla doesn’t offer official support in spite of the dominance of CarPlay on various electric vehicles.
CarPlay is Now Compatible with Most Electric Vehicles
Tesla in 2020 was reportedly planning to support Apple Music. CEO of Tesla Elon Musk didn’t respond on Twitter about bringing CarPlay to its vehicles. However, it is one of the most demanding features among the owners of Tesla vehicles. Apple presented the next generation of CarPlay for compatible vehicles at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2022.
The next-gen CarPlay will support multiple displays in a vehicle. It features built-in climate controls to adjust the temperature of the A/C or heat of the CarPlay interface. Apple suggested the 1st vehicle supporting the new CarPlay version is expected to be announced in 2023. Various auto manufacturers are also committed including Honda, Nissan, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, and many others.

A developer Michal Gapiński created this alternative to enable CarPlay on Tesla vehicles. This version has now been updated to 2022.25.1 with various new features. Moreover, the new version is now compatible with most electric vehicles.
Gapiński said the new update enables first-time users to download the software to authorize CarPlay on a Tesla vehicle. The new version includes supporting up to 60Hz refresh rate and DRM video playback. Moreover, Netflix will now work efficiently on the vehicle. It also includes an orientation lock to Apple Music to support the landscape mode.
Android Audio now Connected to Tesla Browser
The news release pointed out that Tesla Android with CarPlay will now act normally after loading in Drive or Reverse. There is an explication of the video stockpile to empower the constancy of the Flutter app in the Tesla Browser. Moreover, Android Audio is now directly connected to Tesla Browser in a vehicle. Playback is now enabled when Drive or Revers is attached.
It clearly indicates there is no need to pair Tesla Android with your vehicle using Bluetooth. However, Audio output from Tesla Browser will not halt media playback from CarPlay or Tesla OS. Vehicle owners must install the OS and open the Audio Capture app in their Tesla Android to activate the feature.
