Trump Administration warned Americans “Do Not Travel”
Trump administration is working hard to fight Covid-19 outbreak. The U.S State Department has issued a new advisory warning to Americans. The department warned against all international travel in an effort to fight the coronavirus epidemic. It is noteworthy that the top-level ‘Do Not Travel’ warning normally applies to the most high-risk countries around the world. Its application to all international travel represents a significant step in Washington’s efforts to stop the widespread coronavirus. The state department also called all Americans abroad to return to the United States. The U.S Department of State also advised U.S citizens to avoid all international travel because the global impact of Covid-19.
The department said in a statement, “In countries where commercial departure options remain available, U.S citizens who live in the United States should arrange for immediate return to the United States, unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period”. The top-level warning previously took place for only 15 countries, including Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan. China was also added to the list in January among concerns regarding the coronavirus.
U.S President Donald Trump had earlier rejected to confirm or deny the report at a midday news briefing. He just said he was planning to meet with State Department officials later on Thursday. Trump said, “We haven’t had the meeting yet”. At least 10,000 people across the United States have been diagnosed with the illness called Covid-19 and more than 200 have died. There was a largest number so far in Washington State and New York. The U.S Senate was also planning to announce details of a $1 trillion-plus coronavirus bill later on Thursday. It is designed to help the U.S economy during the widespread coronavirus Covid-19.
