Trump claimed Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Sexually Abused Children
The U.S President Donald Trump has claimed that thousands of illegal immigrants have sexually abused children and they are currently in prisons in Texas. Trump is looking to justify funding for his border wall. Trump was quoting John Jones of the Texas Department for Public Safety (DPS). Jones appeared at an immigration roundtable at the White House last week and said that more than 4,000 have been incarcerated for sexual assault in the last seven years. At least 62% of them is a sexual assault against children. Statistics from the Texas DPS show that 2,837 people were convicted of a sexual assault or sexual offense from 5,580 arrests between 2011 and the end of 2018.
The statistics don’t show how many of those arrested were charged, or how many of those offenses were against children. The statistics also don’t show how many of those offenders are still in prison. Trump has claimed thousands number in spite of not being able to fully justify the provided figure. He has hardened his rhetoric over the border wall. The major issue in a government shutdown is now the longest in the U.S history at 23 days.
Thousands of illegal aliens who have committed sexual crimes against children are right now in Texas prisons. Most came through our Southern Border. We can end this easily – We need a Steel Barrier or Wall. Walls Work! John Jones, Texas Department of Public Safety. @FoxNews

Trump said in his tweet that the crime could be ended easily with a wall. Democrats have blamed the president of misinformation and malice over his stance. Trump has reportedly informed advisors that he sees the shutdown as a win for him. But his frustration is clear as the pressure increases on the president to find a solution to the shutdown. Democrats have stood firm in saying that they will not sign-off the president’s request for $5.7 billion in wall funding as part of any legislation to open the government. They are offering $1.3 billion in general border security funding and blaming that Trump has thrown a temper tantrum over the wall.
