On Wednesday, a wide-ranging survey has indicated about growing tensions within Muslim community in the United States, but the survey also pointed out on their fundamental confidence in the American Dream. The Pew Research Center survey includes 3 quarters of American Muslims and it has indicated that 74 percent of them mentioned Donald Trump as unfriendly for American Muslims. But, at least half of them said that their non-Muslim neighbors, colleagues and Muslim friendly people have offered support and encouraged in the recent months. A 28-years old Muslim woman said during survey that she has experienced much negative comments straight to her face during wearing hijab in public. But, she also said that there are various people with nice comments about her hijab as some said it beautiful.
At least 6 in 10 U.S Muslims said that they believe Islam hasn’t yet viewed by the other mainstream part of the country. They also said that they are proud to be both Muslims and Americans. A large number of people also believe that there is not any conflict between Islam and democracy. The current survey has been considered the first of its kind managed by the organization since the establishment of Trump administration in the United States. Trump and his administration have done to cast a critical spotlight on Muslims during his presidential campaign and his first 6 months in his Office, and sometimes indicated Muslim religion as a threat. At least 70% of Muslims expressed in survey about their belief that hard work might lead to success in the country, in spite of not being accepted fully in the United States.
