Two People Were Sickened By Hotel Coffee Pot Previously Used to Cook Meth

In the early days of September 2015, a message quoted and published on a Facebook page ‘Kearney Area Exchange Group 2.0’ by a user Amber Richard regarding Omaha resort guests supposedly disgusted by a coffee pot that was used to cook meth by previous guests. This message was only for the group members but some members republished from other Facebook accounts. Another news ‘individuals cooking meth in hotel coffee posts’ was circulated in 2007. An article from Associated Press also reported about arrests for drug-making in hotels or motels in 2009. It is considered as supposedly common statement because in both cases we didn’t find any kind of injuries or the specific location of these activities.

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration collected records by the Associated Press that they have found 1789 evidences of last five years of drug-making in hotel and motel rooms. The U.S Drug Enforcement Department said that there is a slight change in the figures mentioned in the Associated Press report, because the U.S department found 965 in 2004, 461 in 2005, 149 in 2006, 87 in 2007 and 127 in 2008. The U.S Drug Enforcement Department said that reported figures are too high but we tried our best and eliminating those elements and still monitoring such kinds of activities and handling with iron hand. A professor at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center John Martin also said that these kinds of activities are happening all the time and one should be highly trained to perform purification. The American Hotel and Lodging Association said that cleaning for meth labs could cost 2,000 to 15,000 U.S dollars. But we could not find any kind of report from Omaha, it looks like reported by some rumors.
