The U.S government has declared the state of emergency in various parts of the country. It is noteworthy that both patients were being treated at the same health center in Kirkland, east of Seattle. 6 deaths of the state’s 12 cases have now been confirmed and 50 others are being tested for the virus. The sales of face masks have surged among the general population as the number of nationwide cases approaches 100. Moreover, at least one patient was mistakenly released by the CDC and later tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
The Washington state’s health officials said on Sunday night that a 70-years old 2nd person had died from the coronavirus. It is important that dozens of people were sick at a nursing facility near Seattle and had been tested for the virus. On Friday, health officials said a man in his 50s died of coronavirus, the first death from the virus in the United States. Public Health, Seattle & King County said in a statement that a 70-years old man died on Saturday. Both had underlying health conditions, and both were being treated at a hospital in Kirkland, Washington, east of Seattle.
Point to be noted that Washington State now has at least 14 confirmed cases. State and local authorities stepped up testing for the illness as the number of new cases grew nationwide. New infections were also reported in the New York, Florida, California, Illinois, Rhode Island, and Washington State. The health officials declared the Pacific Northwest was now at the center of the country’s biggest health crisis for a generation. Various groceries and other stores reported exceptional demand over the weekend as people raced to stock up on essentials.
