The conservative click-bait website “US Herald” shared a story on 1st September 2016 and claimed a shocking murder of an elderly white Georgian woman, she was killed by an ethnically motivated gang. Point to be noted that “US Herald” was unable in providing any evidence, but simply described the criminal circumstances. The website mentioned about the race of the victim & suspects and the killing factors. Any local news outlet didn’t report any kind of ethnical motivation behind the attack and killing of a Georgian woman. The major factor of motivation was considered a robbery because the attackers had demanded money from the victim and then beat her and threw flammable liquid, and then set fire on her.
The story of “US Herald” website also claimed that attackers were belongs to a Gang, but the website was unable in mentioning any kind of membership of the suspects. The news reports didn’t mention any link of any organized gang regarding the incident. There were supposedly 4 suspects named 38 years olf Justin Grady, 18 years old Cortavious Heard, 17 years old Angel Harmon and 17 years old Mina Ellery. All suspects were being held without bond on charges of criminal offense. Two suspects Grady and Heard were previously worked in the fields of blueberry and supported the family during the harvest seasons. The Office of the Meriwether County Sheriff didn’t comment and our request wasn’t returned back to us regarding the information by Office of the District Attorney.
