The White House has attempted to defeat rumors regarding the health of Donald Trump after an unscheduled visit to a doctor over the weekend. Trump has claimed his visit to the Walter Reed medical center on Saturday was phase one of his yearly physical, in spite of him having no public events on his schedule for that day and his last physical being only 9 months ago. A source said the president’s visit also didn’t follow the protocol for a routine medical exam and didn’t deliver notice to Walter Reed staff regarding the visit. A separate source informed CNN that Trump’s visit was abnormal. Moreover, the White House press secretary, Stephanie Grisham insisted it was “absolutely not” true that the visit was anything other than a routine physical exam.
Grisham informed Fox News host Jeanine Pirro and said, “He’s got more energy than anybody in the White House. That man works from 6 am until, you know, very, very late at night. He’s doing just fine”. Trump has no public events scheduled for Monday after a weekend in which he had no public appearances on his schedule, in spite of the suggestion that the president works all through the day. The doctor of president Trump hailed his health as “excellent” and “very good” amid his first 2 annual physicals in January 2018 and February 2019.
Trump referred to his visit to Walter Reed on Sunday morning and denied there was anything wrong with his health. He wrote on Twitter, “Visited a great family of a young man under major surgery at the amazing Walter Reed Medical Centre. Those are truly some of the best doctors anywhere in the world. I also began phase one of my yearly physical. Everything very good (great!). Will complete next year”. It is noteworthy that a patient would fast, usually overnight, so accurate blood tests could be performed for a normal annual physical exam. It is still unclear why Trump only completed “phase one” of his medical as he was at Walter Reed for more than 2 hours and had no other scheduled events for Saturday.
