Why Uber Executive Alexander Fired from the Company?
The issues of Uber with corporate culture haven’t yet finished due to company has fired 20 people. The New York Times and Recode have reported that the ridesharing company has fired the president Asia-Pacific, Eric Alexander. The step was taken after discovering that he obtained the medical records of a woman allegedly raped in New Delhi, India by her Uber driver. Uber would be the only source to confirm the termination of its employee Alexander, but it is a little bit extra-ordinary effort from a transportation executive in getting sensitive information related to a criminal case. The reason behind this questionable effort might be too strange after finding the correctness of the news sources. Both above mentioned news outlets have indicated that CEO Travis Kalanick, Alexander and senior business VP Emil Michael were doubtful about the authenticity of rape claim.
Alexander also shared files with the group for raising the possibility the chief competitor of Uber in India, Ola produced & raised incident to defame the approach of Uber. The exec supposedly picked the records for at least one year until other top authorities of Uber collected report and trashed the copy of Alexander. It is unclear whether there are any remaining copies moving around the offices of the company. There is not any comment whether or not Alexander legally collected details of victim. It was also asked from the concerning area’s police for their comments, but they didn’t reply on the issue. It is important that its aftermath underscore the frequent slowness of Uber in handling with questionable behavior. But, Uber has taken various steps in enhancing the safety of passengers in India.
