Listen to this article

The New York City had already said that it was confusing with Verizon for purportedly backtracking on an assurance to bring FiOS service to every single house in the New York City. Now, the New York City has sued Verizon and blaming the telecom for failing to bring up a cable franchise contract needed fiber to pass entire residences in the New York City by the mid-2014. The New York City officials also blamed that the company was unable to finalize some requested installations. It wasn’t more surprising for Verizon and the company is taking this issue with a lawsuit. A spokesperson of the company has indicated that Verizon had qualified 100 percent with the terms of agreement.

The representative also said that the Mayor Bill de Blasio was behind the scene and prevented to build fiber into the homes of tenants. The company also indicated that the company has planned to invest more 1 billion U.S dollars in New York City fiber for the next 4 years in order to meet the need of residents of New York City. But, currently the reality has been more complicated. The main allegation on Verizon was to resolve around clarifications of the Pass term. The company also claimed that there wasn’t a specific definition regarding the term “Pass” in the agreement took place in the year 2008. Now, the current administration of New York City is using a different definition than both sides agreed 9 years ago.
